Carolyn Wolf
Description
My name is Carolyn Wolf and I am a graphic designer and illustrator based in New York. In 2019, I received my Master of Arts degree in Graphic Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art. While completing my Master’s online, I also worked as a full-time designer for Herter Design Group in NYC. I, like many others, lost my job because of COVID so I’ve been working freelance ever since.
During my time at Herter Design Group (HDG), I worked with a small team that specialized in signage/wayfinding and environmental graphics. Additional projects included print media, logos, and presentation decks. I highly valued working with a tight-knit firm because I could readily ask my co-workers for feedback and express my ideas without being overlooked. Unfortunately, my time at HDG came to an end because projects were put on hold/canceled because of COVID.
Despite losing my job, I’ve taken this past year and a half as a learning experience and an opportunity to help others. Before going freelance, I worked pro-bono for a handful of non-profit organizations across the country. One of the most memorable organizations I worked with was a choir group called Sing St. John, based in St. John, Virgin Islands. I collaborated with the choir director in designing a new logo and business presentation deck to send to potential donors. As a freelancer, I worked for various clients on projects including logos, custom illustrations, white papers, PowerPoints, and websites.
I am a multifaceted designer ready to hit the ground running!
Thank you for your time,
Carolyn
